Majima's attire remains mostly the same throughout the series, usually consisting of a yellow boa print snakeskin blazer, a gold chain, black leather pants, a black leather belt with a silver buckle, black leather gloves, and black steel toed dress shoes. In the original Yakuza, his tattoo is not the Hannya it is instead a blue entity that resembles an Oni that only covers his left breast. Snakes are often associated with rebirth and transformation, due to their tendency to shed their skin.
The Hannya mask has commonly been used to depict women who have turned into demons as a result of being consumed by sorrow, envy, or rage. It consists of a floral motif (similar to Shimano's), with a Hannya on his back and twin snakes wrapped around his arms and chest. Majima's tattoo covers his biceps and upper chest, stretching from his neck to the back of his thighs. In Yakuza 0, he wears his hair long enough to be pulled into a low ponytail and he is clean shaven with a stubbly moustache. His hair is cut just above his ears and styled into a side part, with the rest of his hair cropped short. His eyelid appears to still be intact, presumably due to Majima's eye being open when it was stabbed. He is missing his left eye, which was gouged out for insubordination in 1985. He appears to have more muscular legs than arms, which is likely due to his reliance on kicking and acrobatics. Majima has a lean build, which he utilizes to achieve incredible levels of speed and agility. 5.5.4.4 Blocking, dodging and reversals.5.5.3.4 Blocking, dodging and reversals.5.5.2.4 Blocking, dodging and reversals.5.5.1.4 Blocking, dodging and reversals.Thats right, he has all his battle styles previously featured in Yakuza 0, except theyre just as powerful as they were then, so do expect to get beat down with bats, break-danced into the ground, and of course, stabbed, shanked, and cut when he comes at you in Mad Dog style. One more thing about the Majima Everywhere system: hes rarely the same enemy twice. Try swinging by the area with a knife, gun, or maybe a frozen tuna on your person.
I wont even begin to spoil all the incredible, sometimes hilarious, encounters with Majima, but early on in the game, youll be notified that Officer Majima is working the beat by the Millennium Tower, and hes on the lookout for any one carrying any suspicious weapons.
Yakuza Kiwami, of course, goes into way more detail about what happens between 19 that turns Nishikiyama into a jerk, but what I think has had people really excited since we presented the game at E3 has been the Majima Everywhere system, where everybodys favorite maniac can spring up on you from any place, at any time.īut youll actually want to fight him mostly because Kiryus fourth and most powerful fighting style, the Dragon of Dojima style, is only leveled up by fighting Majima, who has taken it upon himself to retrain Kiryu so that he may regain what he lost in the years he was away from the city.
